People who want to create their own family tree are often in doubt.
WHICH DESIGN SHOULD I CHOOSE FROM ALL OFFERED?
WHICH FAMILY TREE IS THE BEST?
THE REAL QUESTION IS: WHICH FAMILY TREE DO YOU LIKE? If you browse through pictures of family trees on my page or anywhere on the web, has anyone in particular caught your eye?
Once I worked on a city square project in college. The theme was “Urban factory- living in a productive landscape”. My idea was to produce enjoyment and smiles, to encourage play and fun.
Since there was heavy traffic around, I wanted to create a green oasis. I have been researching for a long time which trees absorb harmful exhaust gases best. I created one rational list, with the tree on the first place. The problem was that I wasn’t happy with that choice. Of the 10 tree species I chose, 9 I could not include in the project because only THAT ONE was the right one.
During the presentation in front of the professor and the class, I went through this whole process, I came to number 1 on the list. And then I said, “My choice is number 7- willow tree.” Surprised looks followed and the question WHY?
The answer is actually simple. Only THAT TREE can satisfy my original idea. Only it can produce smiles, encourage play and fun. Why? Because it is in itself dynamic and interesting. Because even a small wind when it moves its easily flexible branches, creates a wonderful atmosphere, creates happiness and attracts smiles. I laid paths through the canopy. Added swings and climbers for children. Networks for rest and contemplation. I could imagine the penetration of the sun’s rays through the branches as I lay staring at the sky. It was a real factory for the production of pleasures.
I was happy with my choice. The others agreed. They understood my “why”.
Choosing anything else is actually the same as my choice for the square project. When one thing occupies our thoughts, even though we try to think rationally, we know that we will be happy with only that one choice.
In the end, we realize that our “hasty” choice was, in fact, also rational, only that it didn’t seem that way at the beginning. It’s because we started with the wrong question or the wrong assumption.
If you have come across the RIGHT one, the only possible one, then your search ends there.
But if you are still in doubt, how do you know which one is right? Sometimes it’s not love at first sight.
- The right is the one that is in your motherland language or in the language you mostly use.
- The right is what is clear to read
- The right one is what suits you
- The right is NOT what is right for others
- The real thing is what you like
- The right is the one that contains all the people that YOU want to contain
See examples of family trees on my page or anywhere else. Choose the one you like. The concept is important. I am sure that any family tree designer, like me, will always be there to add changes and create a family tree just as you imagined.
In choosing a family tree, only you are important. Create it according to your wishes.
If, after all, a tree is a gift for a person, you can apply all this only instead of yourself.
If you have the right idea of what you want your family tree to look like, but you can’t find a similar example, contact a family tree designer. Choose the one you think would do best, whose style of work you like.
If one of my designs is the right one or if you think I can help you create a family tree, you can contact me on my email: branka.mekic@familytreeart.net
