Do I need to create separated family trees for ancestors and descendants

You can create two separated family trees – one that show the ancestors of the person/persons, the second that show their descendants – children, grandchildren, great grandchildren etc.

Also, you can create one family tree for ancestors and descendants. This family tree is better because you can easy see the relation from the youngest to the oldest generation.

You don’t need to see the part of the relation line on the one family tree, than go to the second and search where have you come, to continue.

ANCESTORS AND DESCENDANTS FAMILY TREE EXAMPLE

I will show you below one example with large ancestor + descendant family tree. You can see how easy you can follow the relation line from any person.

CLARITY – one of the most important things when you create your family tree. If you have the names just on on the pages, you know that you have to make an effort to understand family ties. But when you have all the names on one page, or one poster, you can so easy see what you want to know.

YOU DON’T NEED TO CREATE TWO SEPARATED FAMILY TREES AND DON’T DO THAT if you don’t have some reason to create separated family trees. IT WILL LOOK LIKE TWO FAMILIES, NOT ONE.

If you want two or more family trees, you can make them so that the design of one continues with the other family tree, as in the example below. That way it will be clear that it is about one family.
